About Me

I am an Instructional Technology Specialist for the Tuscaloosa City Schools in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I am also a part of the Social-Emotional Learning team where I oftentimes provide teachers with SEL strategies to implement seamlessly into instruction as well as provide professional development on the topic.

I spent 5 years teaching Pre-Kindergarten through first grade for TCS and within that time, my passion and advocacy for children, their families, and the teaching profession grew tremendously.

Teaching and learning brings me joy. How powerful would our world be if we had children who are not afraid to take risks, who are not afraid to think, and who had a champion? Rita Pierson said it best, “every child deserves a champion, an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”

I am the oldest of four and the mom of Brody (Shih Tzu) and Sassy (Yorkie). Ziggy (Shih Tzu) and Noah (Yorkie) are both deceased. I have two nephews, Tyler and Tristen, and a niece (Journee) who made her entry into the world on May 25. When I am not with loved ones, I am home catching up on my favorite TV shows, lifting, traveling, or reading.
